Proceeds Discloser Statement

Sarah’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of every gift entrusted to us.

Donations, fundraising event proceeds, campaign contributions, and resale store revenue help support the mission and programs of Sarah’s House. These funds make it possible for us to provide safety, support, and a path toward self-sufficiency for individuals and families facing domestic violence and homelessness. Support may be used for direct services, facility and safety needs, community outreach, program expenses, and the operational support required to keep these services available.

Unless a gift is designated for a specific purpose, donations are used where they are needed most to further the mission of Sarah’s House.

When a donation is designated for a specific purpose, program, or service, Sarah’s House will use those funds for the stated purpose. If that need has been fully funded, completed, or is no longer feasible, Sarah’s House may apply the funds to a similar program, service, or mission-related priority that most closely reflects the donor’s original intent, unless otherwise restricted by law or written donor agreement.

Contributions may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. If goods or services are provided in exchange for a donation, only the portion of the contribution that exceeds the fair market value of those goods or services may be tax deductible.

Sarah’s House maintains financial records in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations, grant agreements, and generally accepted accounting principles. Grant funds are used in accordance with the terms and requirements of each award. Financial and program records are maintained and made available for review as required by funding entities.
