Fighting hunger on all fronts, our food pantry goes beyond nourishing bodies – it uplifts spirits and ensures that every member of our community has access to essential sustenance. At New Beginnings, we understand that a nourished body contributes to a nourished soul, and our food pantry is a cornerstone of our commitment to fostering a thriving and resilient community.
New Beginnings Food Pantry maintains partnerships with the Houston Food Bank and many other local organizations to supplement our Food Pantry supply. We are proud annual recipients of the Pasadena Can-Do Food Drive, held in November of each year.
In 2024, the New Beginnings Food Pantry provided roughly 5,160 individuals and 1,410 families with nutrient dense food packages. This equates to nearly 108,360 meals dispersed to those experiencing food insecurities in our community. Additionally, New Beginnings Food Pantry routinely provides holiday food packages to nearly 150 families in the Pasadena area between 2023 to 2024.
Due to increases in both community need and family sizes, New Beginnings Food Pantry has sustained a 100% increase in need for emergency food assistance in the past year. This stark increase developed in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl in July of 2024, as well as in response to the rising prices of everyday grocery items. To continue meeting the community’s needs, Sarah’s House launched our Annual Spring Food Drive in 2024, taking place in April of each year.
